How to guarantee you regret your life, 93-year old athlete, how to stop overthinking, & more

Monthly Favorite Finds is a curated collection of my top discoveries from the past month—whether it’s insightful reads, helpful tools, or unique ideas that have sparked my curiosity.
Each month, I share what’s been inspiring or helping me recently, offering fresh perspectives and actionable takeaways you can explore in your own life.
Here are my top 5 favorite finds this month:
I’m constantly fascinated by people who seem to defy the odds.
This 93 year old (who didn’t start exercising until he was in his 70s) is a 4 times World Champion in Indoor Rowing. His story will inspire and challenge you to get your body moving.
A few things I learned from this:
You’re your own limit. Many of the things you believe you can’t do are just self-imposed barriers. You’re capable of far more than you think.
Timelines are an illusion. There’s no such thing as being “behind” in life. It’s about the time you have and what you choose to do with it. At any single point of your life, you can decide to do anything you want.
The art of showing up—consistently doing something over and over again—is the key to achieving extraordinary results.
The best way to gauge progress toward any goal—whether in your career, health, relationships, or finances—is not by fixating on the desired outcome but by assessing your current actions.
Two main takeaways:
Develop a habit of tracking: You gain a lot of valuable insights about what’s working and what’s not from gathering information. This is why tracking your workouts, for example, can be an incredibly powerful tool that increases your chances of reaching your fitness goals.
Regularly review your data: Use the information you collect to make informed decisions about what future actions to take.
Roughly based on the “Top 5 Regrets of The Dying” (a book written by a palliative care nurse who spent a lot of time with people at the end of their lives).
I loved the format of this video—how he casually calls you out while challenging you to re-evaluate your life’s choices.
If you enjoy dry sarcasm, you’ll get a laugh out of it.
When you spend too much time in your head, ruminating over what could happen or replaying past decisions, it can leave you feeling paralyzed.
Breaking the cycle of overthinking may not be easy, but it’s definitely possible. With practice, you can regain control and move forward.
I appreciated that the article actually gives solid, practical tips instead of the usual “just be more positive”.
Here’s a quote from the article that stuck with me:
You don’t need to make perfect decisions—there’s no such thing—there are just decisions, and you make them perfect with your actions.
If you’re an overthinker, you should consider giving this a read.
Randomly came across this video on YouTube. It did a good job of scratching my curiosity itch (I also went down the rabbit hole of watching a few of his other videos).
While the Internet has made the world feel small, this video will definitely broaden your perspective on just how insanely different peoples’ lives are.
An all-around awesome watch. If you have some free 20 minutes, check it out.
Thanks for reading! I hope you found something valuable :)
